I’m a visual artist who takes inspiration from my extensive world travels and profound love for vibrant people and colors.

Creating art spoke to me from my earliest days, and I started taking life drawing classes as early as age 13. I ultimately attended High School of Music and Art in NYC as a visual arts major, and spent a short period studying at Pratt. But life took me in other directions and into a career doing journalism and communications work to advance humanitarian relief, global health and economic development — which has afforded me the chance to work and travel in 50+ countries.

Much of my art is inspired by those travels - specific people I have interviewed and photographed through my work. Other pieces are abstract - what I call “cloud paintings” where I focus on lines and colors and turn the canvas around regularly as I’m painting to find the shapes and images that are emerging. With these pieces, I often don’t know which way is “up” until the piece is finished.
